EXPOSING THE LIES
Christine Caine has been described as an Australian activist, evangelist and international speaker. She is a speaker at Hillsong events, at Joyce Meyer’s conferences and, just finished speaking at Steven Furtick’s Code Orange Revival. Click on YouTube video below: Anyone familiar with these names will recognize the connection to false Word of Faith beliefs. Here is some more information concerning the nature of her work: From her own website we discover the purpose of her A21 organization: “ In 2008, Christine and her husband Nick founded A21, an anti-human trafficking organization dedicated to abolishing injustice in the 21st century. A21's comprehensive approach includes raising awareness, preventing future trafficking, taking legal action, and providing rehabilitation services to survivors.” In January 2015 Christine founded Propel Women. The following mission statement from her website reveals her motivation for starting this movement: “Propel believes in the passion, purpose, and potential of every woman everywhere. Propel exists to honor the calling of every woman, equip her for success, and develop a sense of God given purpose.” The Hillsong website lists her as a contributor and describes her in this manner: “Christine is a lover of Jesus, wife to Nick, and mum to Catie and Sophia. She travels the globe preaching, teaching, and advocating for justice. Powered by hot, extra-dry, skinny, cappuccinos, Christine is a lover of words who speaks too fast, talks too much, and also writes them down.” However, Christine uses just enough biblical language to deceive people into thinking she preaches God’s Word, but she truly preaches a social gospel. Her focus is on the here and now and on what people can accomplish to improve situations in this life. Christine was a speaker at the ecumenical “Together 2016” event - see article from herescope - (http://herescope.blogspot.co.uk/2016/07/resetting-reformation.html). At the 28:11 mark of this video one can hear her say: “We are the revival we are praying for.”
While I do not question Christine’s sincerity in wanting to alleviate suffering in this world I must question whether she understands the true gospel. Sin is the cause of all the suffering in this world and the only remedy for sin is Jesus’ Finished Work on the Cross. Sin is part of life on this earth and no one escapes its consequences. Some suffering may be alleviated for a time in this life, but to what end? If one dies lost there will be nothing but suffering for eternity. So which is more important to preach, the social gospel or the true gospel of salvation? We need to heed the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Cor. 4:5-18: 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you. 13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. It is truly heartbreaking to see her statement of wishing to dedicate her birthday to the 27 million enslaved. Billions in this world are enslaved to sin and they need to hear the true gospel of salvation. That is the only message that frees for now and ensures an eternity spent with Jesus, with this amazing promise: Rev. 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
